Series explores our data-led future
A new seminar series will stimulate debate on issues that will shape the future of ‘data-led’ innovation.
The Controversies in the Data Society seminars will take place weekly, discussing a range of issues including data’s impact on surveillance, justice, AI at work and fake news.

Professor Jonathan Crook and Dr James Stewart will shed light on economic exclusion in the data society on 26 February. Propaganda, social media and “Fake News” in contemporary politics will be under the spotlight on 19 March.
Building Bridges Series
The new Edinburgh Futures Institute programme is part of the Building Bridges Series, which aims to build connections between various disciplines and external parties. It will forge new relationships by drawing on the existent wealth of activities that the University already offers, and provide support to help them break new ground in their endeavours.
